YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan – Tamayura: Echoes of the Soul

Feb 6, 2027 8:00 PM Centre in the Square
Live Music Concert

YAMATO brings the powerful sound and spirit of Japanese Taiko drumming to the stage in a thrilling performance that is both musical and physical. Founded in 1993 in Asuka-mura, Nara Prefecture, known as the hometown of Japan, YAMATO has performed more than 4,000 shows in 54 countries around the world. Their performances feature more than 40 Taiko drums, each with its own distinct sound and character, including the massive Odaiko, a drum made from a 400-year-old tree that weighs approximately 500 kg. With extraordinary strength, precision, humour, and heart, YAMATO creates an unforgettable experience that surrounds audiences with rhythm, energy, and emotion. More than a concert, this is “physical music” that brings performers and audiences together through the power of Taiko.
